Panasonic Industry to invest 600 million yuan to expand its PCB factory in China.

According to a report by the *Nikkei* on June 8, Panasonic Industry will begin producing electronic circuit board materials—such as those used in AI servers—in Suzhou, primarily supplying local PCB manufacturers.

The report states that Panasonic Industry will invest 600 million yuan to build a new factory covering an area of ​​approximately 50,000 square meters, with production scheduled to commence after October. In addition to materials for multilayer boards (composed of copper and other components), the new facility will also produce materials for semiconductor packaging substrates. This move aims to meet rising demand—such as the expansion of data centers—driven by the widespread adoption of generative AI.

Panasonic Industry plans to double its production capacity for multilayer board materials over the five-year period starting in the 2025 fiscal year. In 2027, the company intends to launch a new production line in Guangzhou and open a new factory in Thailand.
